Timbal Section

A conical-shaped medium-sized drum made of either metal or wood, the Timbal’s origins can be traced back to the Brazilian state of Bahia. It is played solely with the hands, and is capable of a wide range of expressive tones, adding colour and variety to the typical samba bateria setup. An utterly captivating instrument when placed in the right hands!

yang, hotshot rookie hand percussionist, seasoned snarist, and moonlighting surdo maestro, has been known to deliver thunderous boomsz-ing slaps from his awesome timbals with panache, agility and vigor during performances. Spectators beware! Earplugs not included!

Oliver, known to exude the most incredible powers when he performs. Only thing is he doesn’t know what powers shows up at different times. Audiences beware, because you’ll never know what hit you!

Tan Yan Bin

Voted most likely to get too high performing.
Yanbin is the Jack-of-all-instruments in Samba Masala. Knowing just enough to get by with each instrument, he is currently trying to conquer the Timbals. Do watch out for his hand-numbing performance in the future!
